Mark Messier’s Biotech Stock Picking RESOURCE GUIDE

Mark Messier’s Biotech Stock Picking RESOURCE GUIDE

How to identify clinical and regulatory catalysts long before the mass of investors

Your first step is to identify the clinical and regulatory catalysts that will routinely drive biotech stock prices higher. Whenever a catalyst pops up, put the company and any data into the Clinical & Regulatory Catalyst Calendar spreadsheet you downloaded along with this Resource Guide.

Here are a few of the sites I visit to uncover these catalysts:

1. Search Google News two or three times a day — http://news.google.com/ — for news about the FDA.

Sort all stories by date so you’re not looking at stories that are months old.

Alternately you can go to http://www.google.com/alerts and set up a Google Alert for “FDA” and have the story links delivered right to your e-mail inbox.

Then scan the results for news related to FDA and clinical trial catalysts.

2. Another great resource is http://www.drugs.com, where you can sign up for RSS news feeds that will feed you information on New Drug Applications and clinical trials.

Some of the feeds to check out include:

http://feeds.drugs.com/Drugscom-ClinicalTrials
http://feeds.drugs.com/Drugscom-NewDrugApprovals
http://feeds.drugs.com/Drugscom-NewDrugApplications
http://feeds.drugs.com/Drugscom-HeadlineNews

3. It’s also a good idea to track related press releases. Be sure to check out:

http://www.prnewswire.com/rss/policy-public-interest/fda-approval-news.rss
http://www.PipelineReview.com

PipelineReview.com is a press release aggregator site for FDA and clinical trial news. It also offers e-mail updates you can sign up for.

Also check out: InternetDrugNews.com, which offers a compilation of news feeds related to the pharmaceutical industry, clinical trials, and FDA news:

http://www.InternetDrugNews.com

4. You can monitor FDA Advisory Panel meetings — and register for e-mail updates at:

http://ww.fda.gov/AdvisoryCommittees/Calendar/default.htm
https://service.govdeliver.com/service/subscribe.html?code=USFDA_62

You can also get e-mail updates from the FDA for new drug approvals:

5. You’ll also want to regularly monitor clinical trials to identify companies with upcoming catalysts related to the release of clinical trial results and FDA decisions on New Drug Applications. Go to:

http://www.ClinicalTrials.gov

6. One additional resource to monitor on a regular basis:

http://www.FDANews.com

Make sure you sign up for its free e-zines, Device Daily Bulletin and New Drug Daily Bulletin.

You’ll also find useful RSS feeds at:

Resources for Researching a Specific Biotech Company

1. Your research starts at the company’s website, where you’ll go through the steps outlined on the video.

2. You can get an overview of a company’s current financial situation and check out its daily trading volume by reviewing the data at:
